Chris Murphy | Ophthalmologist
Chris Murphy trained in New Zealand, completing further specialist training in Adelaide, Jerusalem and Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. An experienced and caring ophthalmologist, he believes in providing personalised, local eye care, tailoring treatment to each patient to achieve the best possible outcome. Chris continues his commitment to public healthcare through clinics and surgery at Waikato Hospital. He is also an examiner for the College of Ophthalmologists. Outside work, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Wan Syian, and their three children—while doing his best to avoid Wan Syian’s encouragement to exercise more and work less.

Born in Malaysia and trained in New Zealand, Wan Syian brings a broad cultural perspective to her practice and enjoys caring for people from all walks of
life. Outside of work she enjoys a good book and spending time with her boys.

Northern Irish–born Caroline qualified as an optometrist in the UK in 1998 before
relocating to New Zealand in 2010. She shares her time between Flagstaff Eye Care and
Waikato Hospital, bringing extensive experience to both roles. When she’s not caring for
patients, she enjoys perfectly brewed coffee and exploring New Zealand’s spectacular
walks with her four-legged friends.

Hannah is an experienced optometrist with a strong connection to the Waikato, where she was born and raised. She graduated with Honours in Optometry from the University of Auckland in 2008 and has been practising here in the Waikato ever since. Over the past 18 years, she’s had the privilege of caring for generations of families throughout the Waikato and beyond. Her passion is crafting tailored eye care solutions for each of her patients, ensuring they receive the right advice and treatment to support their individual vision and eye health needs

Hannah is an experienced optometrist with a strong connection to the Waikato, where

playing hockey and keeping busy with her two young boys.
